In 2017, Vimeo started supporting a High-dynamic-range video up to 8k.

In September 2017, Vimeo acquired the existing service Livestream.

In June 2019, AV1 encoding was added.

In April 2019, Vimeo acquired Magisto, an artificial intelligence (AI)-backed video creation service for $200 million.

In February 2020, Vimeo launched Vimeo Create.
