Who Is Instagram?

Instagram is a free photo and video sharing social media app available on Apple iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. The app allows users to upload photos or videos to their service and share them with their followers or with a select group of friends.

WHO IS Photobucket?

Photobucket is an American image and video hosting platform.

WHAT THEY DO?

Photobucket hosts photos and videos for its customers. The users can then link to the content on different sites or blogs.

HOW THEY WORK?

Photobucket has a free plan, which offers storage of up to 250 images. However, the site has paid options with better offers, such as $5.99 a month for 2,500 images (25GB) and $12.99 a month for unlimited Image Hosting. Once you have an account, you can upload and display your photos on other Web sites by including a direct link. The site has photo and video album options.

BEST PRACTICE:

Add music to your slideshow presentations to make them more fun and interesting.

HTML full size is good to use for your animated images.

HISTORY:

In 2003, Photobucket was founded by Alex Welch and Darren Crystal.

In 2007, Photobucket was acquired by Fox Interactive Media.

In December 2009, Fox's parent company, News Corp, sold Photobucket to Ontela. Then Ontela renamed itself Photobucket Inc.

In June 2010, Photobucket was listed in the Lead411's Hottest Seattle Companies list.

In 2011, Photobucket was announced as the default photo-sharing platform for Twitter.

On November 15, 2012, Photobucket introduced "Photobucket Stories."

On February 6, 2013, Photobucket announced a partnership with Aviary editor.

On September 13, 2017, Denver Better Business Bureau rated Photobucket "F" citing 15 complaints related to the change in terms and no response from the company.

On May 17, 2018, Photobucket restored all of its third-party hosted images and announced new plans, such as a $24.99/year offer with third-party hosted images.

In 2019, they introduced two plans that include 3rd party hosted images, $29.99/year with 2 GB, and $69.99/year with 20 GB.

On June 1, 2019, free Photobucket and the "beginner" paid plan accounts were restricted to a hosting bandwidth of 25 MB per month.

TIPS:

Simply use an easy to copy embed link to share your photos on your favorite sites and stop uploading the same picture over and over to multiple forums, websites, blogs, or online marketplaces.

Always choose the higher quality version when uploading your pictures. The default option has poor quality.
