Who Is Instagram?

Instagram is a free photo and video sharing social media app available on Apple iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. The app allows users to upload photos or videos to their service and share them with their followers or with a select group of friends.

WHO IS Blogger?

Blogger is a blog-publishing service that permits multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries. The blogs are hosted by Google and commonly accessed from a subdomain of blogspot.com.

WHAT THEY DO?

Blogger or Google Blogger is an online content management system that facilitates the creation of informal blogs.

HOW THEY WORK?

Blogger allows users to create a beautiful blog that fits their style. The site offers a variety of easy-to-use templates with flexible layouts and hundreds of background images. Users can design anything they want using the available features.

Signing up for Blogger is easy. If you have a Google account (i.e. a Gmail address), then you just have to go to blogger.com and activate Blogger on your account. If you don't have a Google account, you'll need to make one. From there, you can create a "limited profile" that will let you blog anonymously.

HISTORY:

On August 23, 1999, Blogger was launched by Pyra Labs

In February 2003, Pyra Labs was acquired by Google under undisclosed terms.

In October 2004, Pyra Labs' co-founder, Evan Williams, left Google.

In 2004, Google purchased Picasa and integrated its photo sharing utility Hello into Blogger to allow users to post photos to their blogs.

On May 9, 2004, features such as web standards-compliant templates, individual archive pages for posts, comments, and posting by email were added.

On August 14, 2006, Blogger launched its latest version in beta, Invader.

By May 2007, Blogger had completely moved over to Google-operated servers.

In September 2009, Google introduced new features into Blogger.

In 2010, new templates were introduced and the website was redesigned.

In February 2013, they began integrating user blogs with multiple country-specific URLs.

In April 2013, they updated the HTML template editor improving it to make it easy for the users to edit the blog's source code.

On February 24, 2015, Blogger announced that it will no longer allow its users to post sexually explicit content, unless the nudity offers "substantial public benefit," for example in "artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts."

On February 28, 2015, due to severe backlash from long-term bloggers, they reversed the decision on banning sexual content and went to the previous policy that allowed explicit images and videos if the blog was marked as "adult".

BEST PRACTICE:

Blogger has a built-in analytics technology that allows the bloggers to see where their audience is coming from and their interests. This feature allows the bloggers to direct their content to the right audience. To get a better experience and look of the blog’s performance, users are allowed to connect directly to Google analytics.

TIPS:
