Though only twenty-five years old, Ravi Singh is mature in experience and successful in achievement far beyond his years. A strong believer in education, he is a graduate of Marmion Military Academy, Valparaiso University and holds a Masters degree from Northwestern University. Ravi has also taught at several community colleges including Community College of DuPage.

Aurora-Ravi Singh, Aurora native and Marmion Academy Graduate announced today his intention to run for State Representative in the 42nd district. If Singh, a Sikh, is successful in his bid for the General Assembly seat, he would be the first Asian-American of any ethnic group to be elected to the statehouse in Illinois. The district encompasses Aurora, Geneva, Batavia, North Aurora, Montgomery and St. Charles. The seat is currently held by Republican Susan Deuchler, who will not be running for re-election.

Springfield,..Ravi Singh arrived back in the 42nd district today from Springfield after having filed his petition of candidacy for State Representative. Singh lined up at 6 a.m. for the opening of the State Board of Elections. "Now we've made it official," Singh said, as he emerged from the State Board of Elections. "I arrived here before many other candidates in the hope that my name will be the top one on the ballot.

Aurora - In a boost for his campaign and a disappointing setback for his main opponent, State Representative candidate Ravi Singh has racked up a new endorsement. This time the endorsement comes from Republican Geneva Mayor Tom Coughlin. "He is a sincere and energetic young man whom I believe will be a great Representative for our district," said Coughlin in a letter to Geneva Republicans about Ravi Singh. "Ravi is familiar with state government and has had experience working in our capitol for Lt. Governor Bob Kustra and as Director of Community Relations for State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka." When asked about candidate Pat Jaeger, Coughlin said, "I like Pat Jaeger but, I just personally believe Singh's downstate experience gives him an edge. I am strongly committed to helping Ravi's election," concluded Coughlin.
