Momentum Continues for Singh Campaign
Aurora - In a boost for his campaign and a disappointing setback for his main opponent, State Representative candidate Ravi Singh has racked up a new endorsement. This time the endorsement comes from Republican Geneva Mayor Tom Coughlin. "He is a sincere and energetic young man whom I believe will be a great Representative for our district," said Coughlin in a letter to Geneva Republicans about Ravi Singh. "Ravi is familiar with state government and has had experience working in our capitol for Lt. Governor Bob Kustra and as Director of Community Relations for State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka." When asked about candidate Pat Jaeger, Coughlin said, "I like Pat Jaeger but, I just personally believe Singh's downstate experience gives him an edge. I am strongly committed to helping Ravi's election," concluded Coughlin.
In responding to Mayor Coughlin's endorsement of his candidacy, Ravi Singh said, "I am gratified that Mayor Coughlin is lending us his support. He has seen the hard work we have put into this campaign and he recognizes that I will continue that hard work as a legislator in Springfield representing our entire district."
The Coughlin endorsement of Ravi Singh for State Representative is a crushing blow to Geneva Township Supervisor Patrick Jaeger who was counting on the support of his home town Mayor. Until recently, Jaeger was considered the prohibitive favorite because of his endorsement by current Representative Susan Deuchler and his position in Geneva Township government.
Ravi continues the momentum of the campaign by announcing the next stop on the coffee tour. "If you are going to earn the trust of the people, you have to be willing to serve!" says Ravi Singh. Singh will be serving complimentary coffee from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm this Saturday, January 24, at The Geneva Diner at 14 South Second Street, in Geneva. Singh will be serving complimentary coffee and listening to the concerns of the citizens regarding the local issues which are affecting the community.
