Polyvore was a community-powered social commerce.
Polyvore gave users access to tools that helped create collages of clothing, beauty, and home products. Polyvore's virtual mood board function allowed community members to add products into a shared product index. The products could then be used to create image collages known as Sets.
Setting up a Polyvore account was easy and free. Users just needed to add personal details to create an account. Upon sign-in, the users received a guide to setting up a profile. The site allowed an unlimited number of items to be added.
To increase chances of remarkable performance, users were required to align their products with brands they wanted to be associated with. To reach more people and create an audience, users were encouraged to share their products across various platforms compatible with Polyvore. Offering a full description of how a product is used or styled on different occasions was a good move to improve engagement
