Orkut was designed to help users meet new and old friends and maintain existing relationships.
Orkut was a free social networking site that allowed users to create a profile and meet new people. Orkut is only available to 18 or older individuals. Previously, Orkut was invitation-only but changed that later on. To get an account, one only needed a Google account.
Users could integrate GTalk with Orkut, giving them the ability to chat and share files. Orkut allowed users to use a like button to share interests with friends.Users in Brazil and India could also change their interface from the variety of themes in the library.
