Mixi is an online Japanese social networking service.
Mixi allows users to connect with their friends conveniently and enables them to send and receive messages, read and comment on others' diaries, organize and join communities, and invite their friends.
To join Mixi, you need to be invited by an existing member. You also need to be 18 or over, require a valid Japanese cellphone number. This bars anyone who is not or has not been a resident of Japan from joining Mixi.
