Behance, part of the Adobe family, is the leading online platform to showcase & discover creative work. Creative people join the platform with their original work and creative process in mind.
Behance is a platform that allows people across the world to showcase their portfolios of visual work such as fashion, illustration, graphic design, and photography. Here, users showcase their work in the form of profiles comprised of Projects.
Users join and create a portfolio. They then customize the website using the platforms design tab. Users can also add pages on the website. Once done, users publish content and are able to sell their content to the world.
Behance was founded by Matias Corea and Scott Belsky in November 2005. Initially, Behance relied on revenue, generating income through the sale of banner ads, job postings and later, 99U conference tickets.
In May 2012, they received $6.5 million as funding from investors including Dave McClure and Jeff Bezos' personal investment firm, Bezos Expeditions.
In December 2012, the company was acquired by Adobe Systems for $150 million.
Behance has encourages users to share ideas liberally. Any time a user has a a really good idea, they are encouraged to share it as soon as possible. All ideas that cannot be replicated should be shared as soon as possible.
1. Only display your best projects on the site.
2. Share a backstory in your project. First show the finished project and then show the progress or process you took to reach the final product.
3. Use design elements that complement and enhance your project.
