Rupar A. (2020 Jan 6). “These Media Posts will serve as notification”:Trump’s dangerous Iran tweets, briefly explained. Vox:  https://www.vox.com/2020/1/6/21051550/trump-iran-tweets-soleimani-war-powers-act

According to the author of this article President Donald Trump tweetedabout his intent on US-Iran relations. These tweets came after he had killedthe Iranian paramilitary forces leader Qassem Soleimani. According to Trump, hewould continue with the air strikes could Iran retaliate after the death oftheir leader. The author indicates that the media posts served as thenotification on the position of the United States of America through their headof the nation. However, it has also been argued that there could be a number ofprofound legal issues that could arise from Trump’s tweets. Some expertsindicates that a social media post (tweet) does not satisfy the War Powers Actthat requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of a militaryaction. It is also believed that Trump could end up committing war crimesespecially after he was quoted earlier threatening to destroy all the culturalsites across the country.  Whether it isabuse of power or not, Trump’s activities seem to be less concerned about theinternational laws.
