This article addresses the 2016 elections presidential debate and the message Donald Trump sent to his supporters on Reddit. The authors states that Reddit has a thriving community of more than 22,000 Trump supporters who are very active in the threads during the second presidential debate. These team or healthy patriots as the author refers to them are so many and has enough force trending topics or sway the results during a poll. On 26 September of 2016, this proved to be right when Trump supporters joined together to ensure that he won the first debate polls. According to the author, before the second debate, Trump ensured to share some motivation message with his supporter’s minutes before taking stage, saying “MAINSTREAM MEDIA is rigged!” The message is stated to have resonated on the subreddit shared and the thread turned into a lively hub for live reactions to the upcoming debate. The message received 17000 comments in matter of hours. Users shared almost all links to instant-analysis surveys and the efforts definitely paid off as Trump emerged as winner in most of the polls conducted after the second debate.
