Are Trump's Tweets Wicked and Boring?

Dougherty, M. B. (2017, November 29). Trump's Tweets are somehow both wicked and boring | National Review. Retrieved from https://www.nationalreview.com/2017/11/trump-tweets-joe-scarborough-muslim-videos-wicked-boring/

Dougherty’s article explains why most of Donald Trump’s Twitter posts have the dual attribute of being both wicked and boring at the same time. Dougherty argues that the president’s behavior, as depicted by his tweets, causes people to be annoyed and bored of annoyance synchronously. Although members of the public are already bored of his offensive tweets, it is difficult to ignore his posts since his Twitter account is also used for making national announcements. In one of his tweets, Trump shared videos of two Muslims desecrating the statue of the Virgin Mary and committing assault. This video infuriated many people since it appeared to intimidate Muslims with fear of retaliation, and to encourage Christians to condemn Muslims. The author argues that it is utterly boring to deal with the drama and tantrums of Donald Trump in Twitter on a daily basis. Perhaps many people would agree that the president should focus on more important matters of the state than cause chaos and discomfort on Twitter.
