First Turban in the United States Military

Ravi is the first Sikh to attend a military academy JROTC while also wearing a turban in the United States. Ravi received expert marksman for shooting. He was a member or the Panther Reconnaissance Unit. He was captain of the High School Golf Team and graduate with full JROTC military honors as 2nd Lieutenant. Legislation was introduced and Ronald Reagan signed it into law. Later overturned Ravi was allowed to graduate with full military honors by the Secretary of Defense.
