Microsoft® launches Internet Explorer, and Amazon and eBay are founded.
At this time there are 18,957 websites live and the “Concept” virus becomes first to infect Microsoft Word. A macro virus, the “Concept” was written in a macro language: a programming language which is embedded inside a software application (e.g., word processors and spreadsheet applications).
