Trump Launches New Social Media to Stand up Against Big Tech

This article is addressing former president Donald Trump’s new social media platform launch. Trump announced that there’s an upcoming launch of his own social media platform called Truth Social. In his press release, Trump said that he created TRUTH and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of the Big Tech. Trump mentions that currently, the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter but he has been silenced. He added that he is excited that soon he will be able to share his thoughts on TRUTH social and also fight back against Big Tech. Earlier in October, Trump had tried to force Twitter to reinstate his account. His motion read “Coerced by members of the United States Congress, operating under an unconstitutional immunity granted by a permissive federal statute, and acting directly with federal officials, Defendant is censoring Plaintiff, a former President of the United States.” Meaning that Twitter’s decision to ban Trump from its platform was out of pressure from Congress and not the platforms personal decision. The author notes that the upcoming launch of Trump’s platform is coupled with the announcement that Trump Media & Technology Group has merged with Digital World Acquisition Corp that will allow it to go public. Trump is also launching TMTG a subscription-based video service that will feature none-woke programming.
