Trump Cannot be Excluded from Social Media Platform's Policy and Regulations,  Says Judge

Bella T. (2021, Oct 27). Florida judge rules Trump can’t skirt Twitter’s terms just because he was president, in latest legal setback. The Washington Post. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/10/27/trump-twitter-lawsuit-president-judge/

The author of this article reports that the federal judge in Florida made a ruling that Donald Trump’s status as a former president of the United States of America does not exclude him from observing the platforms regulations. The District Judge further granted Twitter’s request to move the case from Southern District of Florida to the Northern District of California based on the company’s clause to handle its court cases within the state. It is a part of the user agreement and Donald Trump was not an exception. The court case is based on Donald Trump’s ban from Twitter after the January 6th riots at the US Capitol which was believed to be incited by Donald Trump. Trump is also banned on other Facebook and YouTube. The move by Big Tech companies made Donald Trump to move to court in July with the claims that the said companies and their chief executives have a case to answer, terming the ban as illegal.
